Nose: Rich, roasty and toasty. Sweet earth, pepper, light funk and some agave stank. Clay, faintly meaty, with tons of character here.
Taste: Sweet at first on the palate – coats really nicely. Sweet agave, some lemon curd, a hint of pepper and faint ash. On the back palate, more savory notes burst forth – garlic, clay, wood smoke and some minerality.
Finish: Long, ashy, with a hint of beef bouillon. Minerality, burning wood, a hint of clay. Not wildly complex here but still very good.
Overall: Impressive depth on the nose and palate – a really lovely bicuixe. The terroir is evident here, driving those savory notes to grapple with the sweet nose. Really well done, certainly very good.
