The Schtick: Produced using a 100% agave, fermented in open air via concrete tank, this blanco release from Cascahuin is a verified additive free Blanco Tequila. Todays review comes from Lot 1048, and was distilled using a stainless pot with copper coil. Let’s get to it.

ABV: 46% ABV

Age: NA

Nose: Sweet, savory, loaded with tons of agave, papaya, cream, pepper and a hint of some lactic funk. Enticing, inviting.

Taste: Medium bodied on the palate. Loads of minerality, charcoal, some faint ash, pepper and a hint of melon rind. More bitter, smoky, mineral focused than sweet and sweet agave forward. Yummy and savory.

Finish: Long and rich, loaded with pepper and some minerality. More wood smoke and ash than Id have expected, but it lends a great deal of complexity.

Overall: I like this. It bucks the trend of super sweet, and adds a ton of character I wasnt expecting.
