Nose: Sweet cream, rich oak and syrupy currant and raspberry. Incredibly rich nose, bright and fruity with a strong yet discerning oak backbone.
Taste: Bright and fruity, loaded with cherry, currant, blackberry and vanilla bean. Fragrant, lots of perfume and floral notes. Light cardamom and juniper. Light tannic structure, along with lots of sweet vanilla bean. Light pepper, drying clove spice. The mouth feel is thick and rich, but at the expense of some heat. Apricot is really prominent here.
Finish: Long, rich and loaded with sulfur, orange peel, honey and currant. Blackberry jam, mild ethanol sting. The oak is present but plays wonderfully with the rich fruitiness.
Overall: Good lord this is great. Everything strives to be the dominant note here, but in the end it balances perfectly. Its rich, vibrant, fruity, oaky, sweet and bitter all at once. I love the balance. Its incredible.
