Review #2139 | Armagnac Review #106

Distiller: Le Freche

Bottler: LEncantada

Brand: LEncantada

Selection:

ABV: 50.1% ABV

Age: 21 Years

Nose: Bold, spicy, loaded with anise and quite a bit of pepper. Tannic and dry, spicy, loads of grape and a touch of cream.

Taste: Rich on the palate, syrupy and loaded with grape character. Oaky, dry, packed with cherry, grape and anise. Spicy, tannic, dry, peppery.

Finish: Long, dry finish. Barrel char, luxardo cherry, brash tannin and a spicy, dry back palate.

Overall: I want to love it, but the heavy handed tannins and the extremely dry finish just don’t do it for me. It’s well made, true in execution to the house, but fails to blow me away.

Thanks for reading!
