The Schtick: Produced from a blend of Espadin and Cuixe (70/30) on the Garcia Morales Ranch, this bottling is produced on a copper still for Madre. Let’s see how it is.

Review #1384 | Mezcal Review #62

Distiller: Jose Garcia Morales

Bottler: Madre Mezcal

Brand: Madre Mezcal

ABV: 45% ABV

Age: NA

Nose: Pepper, citrus tang, faint clay. Not a ton going on here, but what is seems fairly pleasant.

Taste: Sweet at first, giving way to pepper and clay. Faint earth, nice charcoal and light ashy body. Lots of delicious pepper with some citrus.

Finish: Short but enjoyable. Pepper, clay, charcoal and pineapple.

Overall: Not fancy but solid. I appreciate that I could get a flask of this. It’s fine, there’s nothing wrong with it, but it’s not super outstanding or interesting, either.

Thanks for reading!
