Maguey Melate Margarito Lopez Flores Pechuga De Mezontle

The Schtick: Distilled on a clay philipino style still in Guerrero, this pechuga is mega unique in that agave hearts are infused in the final distillation rather than meat and fruits. Produced by Margarito Lopez Flores for Maguey Melate in 2020.

Nose: Holy stank. Powerful, overwhelming almost and so satisfyingly enticing. Good lord. Stanky agave, olives, honey, melon. Wow.

Taste: Rich on the palate, a hint of roasty notes, some cocoa and a bit of toasted agave. Plenty going on.

Finish: Long finish, savory and peppery with some soil, pepper and a bit of agave stank.

Overall: this is mega unique, unexpected and packed with smells and flavors at every turn. Wild.
