Thank you to PM Spirits for the opportunity to try each of these, and for allowing me to review them.

#2105 – Basler Kirsche (Cherry)

50% ABV

Extremely aromatic, vivacious, raucous. Potent cherry on the nose, cream, grass and hay. Syrupy mouthfeel, powerful once more. Vibrant cherry character, light cocoa, cream and a dessert quality that vibes well despite no wood influence.

8/10

#2106 -Wechsel (Morello Cherry):

50% ABV

One of the best things I’ve ever smelled in my life. Vibrantly cherry, though a hair pithy as well. Soil, pungent dark Luxardo cherry, vanilla bean and a hint of clay on the nose. Sweet on the palate, rich and viscous – pepper, cherry character and almond bark are present in spades. Long peppery, bitter finish. I could drink this after dinner for a lifetime.

8/10

#2107 -Gravensteiner (Gravensteiner Apple):

50% ABV

Apple streusel on the nose, light cinnamon, oat, stunning pop of acidity and sugar in balance. Moderate palate, apple character first, then cinnamon, then a white pepper bite. Long finish, leaning away from sweetness to a bitter fruit, bark and pepper. Certainly no slouch, but far from the top of the lineup.

7/10

#2108 -Quitte (Quince) (Ronda Quince)

50% ABV

Intensely aromatic, loaded with perfumed fruits, lavender, pear and honey. Rich sweet palate – the sweetest so far. Honey, buttercream, confectioners sugar, pear, plum and an unreal passion fruit vibe. Long sultry finish that blends pepper, rising sourdough and pepper. Insane.

9/10

#2109 -Rochelt Muskattraube (Muscat Grape)

50% ABV

Musty and fruit forward, it’s all grape, Fruit Loops and blueberry toasted streusel. Sweet cream, blueberry and blackberry jump out in a syrupy, enticing palate. Long finish of pure dessert, flan, blackberry reduction and a pour of PX with nougat.

9/10

#2110 -Röchelt Schwarzer Holunder (Black Elderberry)

52% ABV

Sweet and layered, blackberry, currant, elderberry, strong cacao, vanilla bean. Intoxicating nose. Nose translates well to palate – a syrupy fruit, cocoa, cream focused ensamble. Powerful notes of dark fruit like currant, blackberry, elderberry pair well with tobacco, pepper, cocoa. Eternal finish, strong bite of pepper.

8/10

#2111 -Rochelt Wachauer Marille (Apricot)

50% ABV

Strong citrus, tropical fruits, apricot, pineapple upside down cake. Amazing nose with layered fruits and complexity. Sweet on the palate, perfect balance of sugary fruit character and some light pepper. It’s overwhelmingly fruity in respect to how brightly the apricot shines among the fruits, and that’s not a criticism. Long finish that carries effortlessly.

10/10
