Distiller: La Altena
Bottler: La Altena
ABV: 40% ABV
Age: 8 Months
Nose: Rich and sweet on the nose, peach, pepper, some soil and honey are quite prominent. Lightly fruity, a hint of cinnamon, faint oak.
Taste: Rich on the palate. Oak is pretty noticeable at first – sweet brown sugar, vanilla, toffee, honey. This pairs nicely with the agave character, toasty, earthy notes like slate, minerality, some pepper and a bit of ash.
Finish: Medium finish. A bit of spice, char and pepper on the tongue. Faint bitterness on the back palate, pairs nicely with the sweet cream, fruits and barrel notes on the palate.
Overall: Tapatio Reposado is one of my favorite reposados and for good reason. Balancing barrel and agave nicely, this expression is an ideal sipper, or premium cocktail ingredient.
