Notes: Rich and funky, this barrel from New Riff displays a set of notes that easily overtook my initial favorite from the first tasting. This barrel dominated tasting #2 and #3 to become the favorite with notes of caramel, tobacco, cracked pepper, raisin bread and dense toffee. It drinks more like some of my favorite old Knob Creek’s with that toffee funk note, despite being 4 years old. Unusual richness.
