r/Bourbon 2021 NULU Single Barrel Bourbon I
Year: 2021 by t8ke
Info: Barrel #B38, 5yr MGP 21% Rye Mashbill
Retailer: SharedPour
Notes: Sweet toffee, french toast, cinnamon and nutmeg on the nose. Werther’s caramels and a touch of cracked pepper. Good viscosity on the palate, I find that MGP’s 21% recipe needs a little extra time compared to the 36% mashbill. This barrel at 5 years is drinking really well. Rich, sweet and creamy. Buttercream, nougat, some apple, red berry, and honey are immediately apparent on the palate, with brown sugar, toasted poppyseed and a touch of brown butter on the back palate. Long finish.
