r/bourbon – 2021 Tumblin’ Dice “Cobbler & Cream”

Year: 2021 by t8ke

Info: Barrel #39, 58.11% ABV, 6 Years Old

Notes: By now, y’all know the drill. I love when I find something on profile, and I also love when I find that squeaky wheel out in left field with a wild profile. I don’t always find one, but when I do, I have to have it for the program. Cobbler & Cream is the 2nd barrel from our set of 8 barrels tried, and it was all peach cobbler, blackberry preserve, pepper and a faint touch of balsamic. Sweet, fruity, complex. More oak here, drinks a touch hotter than Loaded Die, but if you don’t mind a touch of fire, you’re rewarded with one of the more interesting MGP bourbons I’ve had lately. The peach cobbler, vanilla bean ice cream, blackberry notes are hard to ignore, with fruit and spice taking a priority over those typical caramel/nougat MGP bourbon notes.
